Q&A for Your Wallpaper Installer
FAQs for wallpaper
What type of wallpaper rolls are offered?
All of our wallpaper rolls are traditional non-woven vellum papers. They are not pre-pasted. We do not currently offer peel and stick, removable, or pre-pasted papers.
What is a pattern match?
The pattern “match” refers to the placement of the “strips” of wallpaper to create the correct horizontal repeat, as the pattern matches from strip to strip.
A Half-Drop Match is when the design runs diagonal from the ceiling. The panels are staggered so only every other strip is lined up at the ceiling line.
A Straight Match is when the pattern moves straight across one wallpaper panel to the next. Each panel is hung at the ceiling line.
A Random Match is when no matter how you position the wallpaper next to the previous panel, the pattern matches up.
Can I apply wallpaper to textured walls?
We do not recommend putting wallpaper over any kind of textured wall as we cannot guarantee that it will adhere properly and the texture won’t show through. We suggest you have your walls professionally prepped.
Can I apply wallpaper in bathroom and kitchen walls?
Absolutely! Wallpapers can be used in areas like bathrooms or kitchens. However, we don’t recommend installing in splash zones like directly above a sink, stove, or a place that continually gets splashed with water.
What does a run or dye-lot mean?
Due to the printing medium(s) used to create most wallpaper, an exact color match across different print runs may vary. Each time a color of a wallpaper pattern is run by a wallpaper printer or press, it’s given a Run or Lot number.
It’s recommended to complete your job with only wallpaper from the same run number for an exact color match. Because of the nature of the printing mediums, we always suggest you order extra rolls at the beginning of your project and either keep your extras for any future repairs or return your extras.
If you need additional rolls to complete a job, please contact us to see if the pattern is available with the same run number you used previously. If that is not possible, keep the new run number on a single wall to avoid color variations on strips hung side by side.
What If I didn't order enough wallpaper?
If you need additional wallpaper rolls to complete a job, please contact us to see if the pattern is available with the same run number you used previously. If that is not possible, keep the new run number on a single wall to avoid color variations on strips hung side by side.
Is the wallpaper ordered by the roll or by the yard?
Our wallpapers are sold by the roll as of May 2025.
How much coverage will one roll of wallpaper cover?
Our wallpaper rolls are 27 inches wide and 27 feet long – a 9 yard roll – covering an area of 60.75 square feet per roll.
How can how many rolls I'll need?
1. Determine Total Square Footage:
To do this, measure the width of the walls and add them together. Then measure the height of your walls. Multiply the total width of your walls by the height. This will give you the total square footage.
*Note: If your room has walls of varying heights, calculate the area (width x height) of each wall individually and add them together. Then proceed with steps 2 and 3.
2. Remove Square Footage of Doors and Windows:
For each door and window, calculate the width and height of each. Add those totals together. Then, subtract the total area (square feet) of the windows/doors from the total area (square feet) of the walls for your new total.
3. Divide the total square footage by 60 (the approximate square feet of coverage per roll).
It’s always best to give our wallpaper specs to your installer for an appropriate calculation that will include desired excess for proper pattern matching based on the size of the repeat of each pattern.

Matching Paint To Your Wallpaper
For paint color matching, we recommend taking a scrap piece of wallpaper from your roll or your swatch to the paint store and color match. Double check that the paint swatch translates correctly in your space's lighting. Painting a test spot and letting It fully dry to compare.

Cleaning Your Wallpaper
If your wallpaper gets dirty, you can wipe clean with a soft sponge or cloth with a mild soap and water. DO NOT use harsh chemicals, such as clorox and chemically based cleaners, directly or indirectly on your wallpaper.
-
Repairing Your Wallpaper
We recommend keeping your extra wallpaper scraps after your install for any future repairs. Keeping at least a full yard Is recommended. This allows you or an Installer to have the full use of a pattern repeat with some wiggle room to seamlessly match any area that might need a patch.
