A LITTLE HISTORY

about Hope and the brand

byHopeatHome is the brainchild of Hope Johnson, a Fine Art graduate from Louisiana State University with a deep-rooted passion for interior design and a discerning eye for pattern play. The business began with a focus on wallpaper before expanding into textiles. Each product, from wallpaper and textiles to pillows and art prints, reflects her background in analog printmaking techniques such as letterpress printing, silkscreen, intaglio/lithography, and block printing.

In addition to offering her artisan-designed patterns, Hope enjoys sharing her insights on making a house a home and blending personal anecdotes with practical interior styling tips.

More Pillow Talk

I was born in '89 and raised in the 90s, and I’ve been rearranging furniture since my toddler sized body could use friction and physics to do so.

Working within the home or design industry was always my goal. I began as a fine art wedding stationery designer and printed works in-house on my 100 year old letterpress that still sits in my studio today.

Growing up immersed in the world of residential design and construction, I’ve learned to speak the language of how interior design and construction intertwine—like partners In a tango dance. Creating pieces that live within the home and celebrating the seamless dance of transforming a house into a home is a passion I feel incredibly lucky to pursue every single day.

I dream in blueprint, and I'm a no-shame maximalist. No walls left behind! When I’m not in my studio, I’m probably cleaning up spilled milk, wrangling one of my three kiddos, or wishing it was March weather all year round.
