FAQs for textiles

We are here to answer any any all questions you've got. If you don't see it below, reach out. If you see it below and still have questions, we're here!
1

I'm ready to order textiles. How do I do that?

You can order our textiles directly through our website. Just select the ‘yardage” option instead of the sample option and input the yardage amount you need and add it to your cart. Easy peasy!

2

How many fabric yards should I order?

This is highly dependent on the project you’re working on. We recommend consulting with a professional for a final yardage count based on the furniture you’re covering or project you’re working on. This blog post might help gauge your question a little further.

3

Should I round up my yards?

Yes! If you’re rounding up from, for example, 2.2 yards, rounding up to 3 yards would be best. However, if your base count is closer to say, 2.8 yards, rounding up to 4 yards would be ideal (to leave a little more margin for cutting and trimming).

4

Why is the lead time 2-3 weeks?

Our textiles are printed by a small, family-owned manufacturer. All textiles are made to order to ensure the smallest carbon footprint from ethically sourced materials, all manufactured right here in the states. #worththewait

5

Is fabric sold by the yard or bolt?

Unlike our wallpaper, our fabric is sold by the yard. We aim to print all yardage on a continuous roll.

6

Can I order a samples first?

Absolutely! Samples are available directly from the shop. You’ll find the dropdown box with the options of “yardage” or “samples.”

7

Is there selvedge to trim?

Yes, the textiles have a selvedge on just one end of the yardage.

8

How large are the samples?

The textile samples are 6x6” squares. At the moment, larger samples are not available; however, if you need a larger cut, email hi@byhopejohnson.com to see if we’ve got any scraps on hand.

9

What are the widths of the fabric offered?

-linen/cotton in oyster 54”
-linen/cotton in oatmeal 54”
-linen in oyster 57”
-linen in oatmeal 58"

10

What is the ratio of the linen/cotton blends?

Our patterns are printed on two different linen/cotton blend fabrics depending on the given artwork. The linen/cotton blend in both oyster and oatmeal is 51% linen and 49% cotton.

11

What are the fabrics best used for?

For our midweight linen/cotton blends, projects like pillows, upholstery, and draperies would be great uses of these fabrics. For our linen fabrics, pillows, light upholstery, and draperies are great uses of these fabrics.
