Debut Textile Collection // a labor of love

When wallpaper was launched a few years ago, I knew textiles would eventually follow suit. Up until now, I’ve licensed my fabric, more novelty collections, with both Cotton + Steel and Hawthorne Fabrics. This work is geared more towards the quilter’s world of quilting cotton. As the wallpaper lead me more and more into the world of the home, I knew upholstery textiles were going to find a place in my heart and line of work. It seemed like the natural next step, and I’m so thankful to have a community of homebodies following along and supporting this journey.

There’s been LOTS of testing, culling, and work that still needs to be tweaked with for patterns that still deserve a spot in the textile line - in due time. But I’m thrilled to launch phase one of this collection and watch it come to life as pillows, upholstered furniture, accent pieces, or drapes in your home!

These babies have seen the days of behind the scenes. My youngest (pictured on the right of this trio) is my toddler sized side-kick in the studio these days. I couldn’t help reminisce on some favorite shots of my older two in the studio (now ten and eight). They’re always along for the ride and when you ask them what their mother does for a living, they still say “she draws and paints things to put on stuff.” I’ll take it.

A FEW TOP QUESTIONS YOU MIGHT HAVE

HOW MUCH YARDAGE SHOULD I ORDER?
This is highly dependent on the project you’re working on. We recommend consulting with a professional for a final yardage count based on the furniture you’re covering or project you’re working on. This blog post might help gauge your question a little further.

CAN I ORDER SWATCH?
Absolutely! Samples are available directly from the shop. You’ll find the dropdown box with the options of “yardage” or “samples.”

DO YOU SELL BY THE BOLT OR THE YARD?
We sell our textiles just like your wallpaper - by the yard. We aim to print all yardage on a continuous roll.

SHOULD I ROUND UP MY YARDAGE COUNT?
Yes! If you’re rounding up from, for example, 2.2 yards, rounding up to 3 yards would be best. However, if your base count is closer to say, 2.8 yards, rounding up to 4 yards would be ideal (to leave a little more margin for cutting and trimming).

WHAT’S THE RATIO OF LINEN/COTTON BLEND?
Our patterns are printed on two different linen/cotton blend fabrics depending on the given artwork. The linen/cotton blend in both oyster and oatmeal is 51% linen and 49% cotton.
